Government legislation continues to threaten the industry by enforcing wage, NI and workplace pension contribution increases, business rate rises and underfunding ‘free childcare places’.

The nursery has always tried to be flexible in its approach to delivering the ‘free childcare’ entitlement, however; as shown in recent National Day Nursery Association research; 92% of nurseries in England are able to demonstrate that Government funding does not cover standard operational costs (wages, utilities, business rates, insurances, food, equipment, activities etc.)

In its new guidance the Government states:

“Government funding is not intended to cover the costs of meals, other consumables, additional hours or additional services”

The Government is requiring nurseries to be transparent about their fee structure, and on this basis, we will offer ‘free sessions’ in six-hour blocks only between 9am and 3pm (if and where available) with priority going to full day care children as always!

STANDARD RATES

HOURLY £ 10.84

CONSESSIONAL RATES

FULL TIME (Monday – Friday five full days inclusive) £376.25 per week
DAILY (7.30am – 6.00pm full day care children) £82.25 per day

The following discount system will remain for second and subsequent siblings:

£10.00 for full time children and £5.00 for those attending four full days per week.

Parents are reminded that payment can be made via Government funding schemes; standing orders; BACS/online banking facilities and cash (cheques are no longer accepted)

Parents are also kindly requested to adhere to payment of fees by the 5th of each month as stated in the prospectus.

Whilst direct comparisons with other nurseries are always difficult, we would strongly advise that, when doing so, the primary consideration should be not only the unique facilities but also the staffing levels and professionalism of personnel employed.
